Adventures of a burnt-out hopeless romantic who wrote a book 📒✨
I cry a lot but I am so productive... It's an art? FIRST POST ALERT.
It was a New Year’s resolution of mine to start a Substack. It’s January 31st so technically that still would count as the start of the year.
Last year around this time, the dwindling weeks of the first month, I went for a walk and cried and then spoke into a voice note about how I was feeling. Maybe 2 days? later I signed a work contract and a BOOK contract with Black Spring Press Group. Things didn’t feel at all real. I had my little self-published baby but never published a book with a press before, in LONDON??? Daydreams. More on that soon.
But I wanted to use this Substack to write some notes and tell the story within the story about this Taylor book that I can call mine. I’ve held it in my hands, watched my mum open it for the first time, hand-delivered it to my friends and sent it off to the USA, UK, almost all of the states of Australia and even one to the UAE.
I need chaotic order in my life otherwise nothing gets done, so I wanted to write about 800 words each for each book chapter that I have, there are 13 in total. Inside the pages of my book I haven’t been able to use song lyrics from her songs (which was DEVASTATING) but I can put them here! So I can’t wait to do that.
In between might be side stories, plot twists that are all part of this journey that is writing my first book. Stay tuned for the rollercoaster, I promise it’ll be fun —
— and Dad. I promise to keep the posts short just for you okay?!
Forever and Always xx C
